Good coffee and pastries, pretty expensive though.

Poor service. Spent 30 minutes in line waiting to get my order taken only to discover all coffee in carafes was empty.

Nice seaside coffee shop-- tasty muffins too

Stopped here for breakfast when driving through Avon. When waiting for my coffee , they had music playing that was really loud with songs that had swearing which was odd for a coffee shop and I heard the customer in front of me who had a little girl with them ask the baristas to turn it down since it was so loud and inappropriate. Ended up not getting food and went to another cafe for breakfast.

uglie Mugs has updated it's business management and also updated their ordering process with a new updated to the 21st century POS system..allowing for shorter wait times and better service ! coffee and food are as always excellent and new staff is always smiling and working together to make your experience at ugly mugs a great one you will not forget.. New art is flooding the shop constantly, and the atmosphere Is just cozy and comfortable..

This gem of a place is perfect. Love their coffee, baked goods, and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended for all.

The Mugs have gone up in price and down in size. The specialy coffee drinks NEVER taste the same and the Latte's are scorched EVERY TIME. No one should have to wait 30 minutes after receiving their coffee to take the first drink.We make the stop every year hoping for a different outcome. We won't make the stop next year.For anyone who has not been to this establishment the ORIGINAL ugly mugs are worth taking a peek at. Sadly they are not for sale. The imitation sea glass that is sold in jewelry form is a sad representation of what can and is found on the shores of AVON daily.

If I could give one star I would! This place is INFESTED WITH ROACHES. My husband and I went in last week to check it out. We had never noticed it before. A adult German Roach was inside their Bakery case! Then behind the girl the bright green hair another ran across the counter!! We said we weren’t ready and looked around for a short period of time and zipped out the door!Edit: I would say we would go to the Scones store down the street, but their coffee is the worst I have ever tasted. At least this place had good tasting coffee.

Am very pregnant and was really craving a frozen coffee drink. Blended lattes are an option on the menu and theres a photo of a frappe type drink on the website. The women with the bright red hair was condescending when I ordered it. Gave the drink to me in a huge white styrofoam cup, not see-through 16 oz cup like every other iced drink which was strange. Turned out it was because she gave me a literally lukewarm soupy and watered down mess and didnt want me to see it. Wish I would have gotten my money back, but there was a big family who was in line and this woman was incredibly slow. Go to any other of the coffee shops surrounding and avoid this one.

Excellent refreshments after a long drive from Maryland. Open past 14:00 despite what google says. Young son got a great chocolate milk shake. Two fruit smoothies were delicious. Great friendly service.

We stopped here one evening spur of the moment to get some breakfast goodies for the next day. Excellent muffins and cinnamon rolls! We had the Devil's Food, Chocolate-Pistachio, and Orange-Cranberry muffins. They were all delicious! It's a very quaint, comfortable little shop with friendly service. We will be back to try some coffee. :)

First time stopping at this cute shop, and boy, it did NOT disappoint! Love the pottery and jewelry 😍 and let’s talk about the coffee for a sec.... I am an avid Starbucks goer - and this coffee is hands down so much better! If you’re in the area and looking for a gem, look no further!

First time stopping at the Uglie Mugs Coffee Shop since they had great reviews online! The store is cute and has a lot of character with the artwork/funky mugs plus the drink menu has a nice selection.However, the prices/food case/service was horrible.The baristas had a friend in the back of the store talking to them the whole time and they kept getting distracted and stop making drinks to talk to their friend which caused a line to go out the door. Midway through waiting to order one of the barista started counting his tips out of the tip jar (assuming he was done with his shift) so there was only one girl making drinks. There were a weak selection of baked goods and most of them looked old and there were flies in the case. I ordered a large iced tea and a small mocha but was told there were no lids for large cups so I changed the iced tea to a small and it was almost $10 for both drinks - seems high for two 12oz drinks. This is our first and last time ever coming here.

Neat coffee shop, busy while I was there so just looked around and didnt get any coffee. Baked goods looked delish.

The good the bad and the ugly....Great snacks , coffee and atmosphere.Over priced terribly slow service.Had to leave to another location.The story...Stopped in at 93o am second in line. 2 people behind counter . One making orders the other cleaning and stocking.After 10 minutes in line without so much as I will be with you in a moment or any eye contact I lost my patience.The young worker was very busy but the older I presume owner looked hungover and disinterested in customer service. To bad find a job that makes you happy!

Fair trade coffees with tons of options, fruit (REAL fruit!) smoothies. The biggest, yummiest muffins around, Ice cream, free wifi. Great service, girls working there are super friendly and fast. They know what they are doing. The daily local crowd are are a hoot! Original/Local Artwork and Pottery for sale at decent prices. There's a Bead section in the back of shop to work on your own or have them help you. Lots of unique gifts as well. Top Notch

Great coffee spot on the island! Not just clever named coffees and smoothies, but great pastries and scones, breakfast items, and pottery pieces (mugs and other things) available for your browsing/purchasing pleasure!

Great Ofer drinks and pastries... but it has to be the slowest service in OBX. They need to learn from the chains in terms of efficiencies of service. The need an electronic ordering system. They had people give up and leave while we waited an hour plus.

Absolutely delicious. Great service. And super cute little back room area to make beaded jewelry and things that I wish we had time to explore more & hang out a while! Spinach and feta croissant was out of this world! Yum.
